Disney x Adairs
During my time at The Walt Disney Company’s Product Development team, I was tasked with creating a pitch deck for a fresh creative direction, pioneering new collaborative homewares between Adairs and Disney. Utilising research about Disney’s popular children’s IPs at the time, as well as access to the library of licensed images, I created a comprehensive pitch and series of brand-cohesive mockups for Disney-themed Adairs products.
Brand Research & Competitor Analysis
Early steps in the process identified 3 key pillars of the branding at Adairs: Quality Materials, Dream Spaces and Sustainable Practice. In our collaboration with Adairs, our goal at Disney was to honour these pillars while also bringing in some branding fun of our own.
Analysis of close competitors like Pottery Barn Kids, Kip & Co., and Zara Home revealed some cohesive and relevant ways to incorporate Disney licences into products our target audience parents and kids would love.
Consumer Research
Looking into the statistics about licences’ individual performances in their respective age and gender groups revealed 6 primary focus franchises through which I believed this new line of Adairs & Disney merchandise could flourish.
Trend Analysis
Looking into the future, I researched and ideated some upcoming visual trends predicted in the homewares space in 2025. This step was crucial to understanding what parents were after in their kids furniture, and how to corner that market the moment it arises.
Final Creative Direction
The final creative direction packages this comprehensive research and ideation into a digestible and consumer-friendly presentation format. These mockups, photoshopped and compiled by me demonstrate the potential of this creative direction to the product development team at Adairs.
