The Smith Family Challenge

In 2026, I worked with the team at The Smith Family to design and roll out new shirts for their annual Smith Family Challenge. In this challenge, participants hike, bike and kayak over 100km in 2 days to raise money for The Smith Family charity, helping alleviate the impact of poverty in the education of kids across Australia. As a Smith Family recipient myself for many years, this project was extremely close to my heart and a wonderfully fulfilling project to be a part of.

Working with the Challenge Team at The Smith Family, I created several iterations of possible concepts for their team and board to choose from, featuring stylised graphics of mountains, compasses, kayaks, and other relevant active gear. Key visual elements included both The Smith Family and The Smith Family Challenge logos, and the iconic blue, white and red colour palette.

Together we landed on this down-to-earth 3-panel design that highlights the exciting and active nature of the event.
