Ormond Papers 2025
In 2025, I was the lead Designer on Ormond College’s 2025 edition of Papers. Ormond Papers is a student publication, headed by an Editor-in-Chief, that showcases top student works from that year, all fit under a general theme. In 2025, the theme was Unbecoming.
This publication shows off everything from essays to paintings to poetry, which made my job as lead designer very typesetting-intensive and layout-focused. With assistance from Hannah Yates on the collages and cover design, all 300+ pages inside the publication were hand-set and formatted by myself.
Also relevant to this project was my experience with the printing company. For this project, the liason with the printers fell on my shoulders and I spent many emails working collaboratively with the team at the printers to make sure that the publication came out exactly as we intended! This affirmed my knowledge and experience in printing conventions and appropriate formatting, including details like exporting as pages rather than spreads, crop and bleed conventions, and the differences between perfect and saddle-stitched binding.
