Medusa: Melbourne Fringe
Poseidon & Athena
In October of 2025, I worked with Four Letter Word to create the lighting design for their second season of Medusa by Bronte Lemaire. This show was performed in the Theatreworks Explosives Factory.
Medusa is an original play that reimagines the greek myth of Medusa in a contemporary context, using the story to create “a striking exploration of power and gender in the modern day.”
The set for Medusa’s second season was more minimal that it’s initial debut in the Union Theatre. 4 drapes surrounded the play space, with the actors using 4 rolling mirrors as a moving and changing set throughout the runtime of the show. This show was very colourful, and maintained the magical and saturated character of its first season. This time, I utilised a lot more haze as the smaller theatre space needed some assistance pulling off the same visual effects the director wanted from the larger pros-arch in the Union.
For Medusa, I fulfilled the roles of Lighting Designer and Electrician.
This show was programmed on ETC Nomad in a 75-seat blackbox theatre.
