Memory is an Augmented Reality experience consisting of a virtual installation of 6 anecdotes around the greater Hub area on The University of Melbourne’s Southbank campus. Utilising many different typographic styles and letterforms, I created 6 distinct concrete poems that encapsulate my personal memories at each location.

I play with scale both large and small to give audiences a more immersive experience, as well as utilising incorporated 3D sound design built into the experience to enhance the space.

Despite its handmade appearance, the immersive character of this project speaks proudly to its uniqueness in my greater body of work. Unlike other event designs or digital outcomes, this experience allows audiences to walk around inside of it, experiencing the narrative at their own pace and identifying the details most important to them.

I believe Augmented Reality has an important place in the future of immersive situational design. I am grateful to have learned how to work in this medium, translating my existing 3D modelling and thinking skills into a real environment.
